Corporatists & Their Infantile Allies…

Ultra-right insanity works for the ruling elite because division, disruption and dissuasion is their game. For the ultra “left,” it’s a fool’s errand…or worse…

As I witness another go-around in the revolutionary struggle, I have this sinking feeling of Yogi’s inimitably stated, déjà vu, all over again.

Self-criticism and pressing one’s viewpoint is fine…to a point. Attacking the mass base for it’s lack of revolutionary fervor, for its “liberaloid feel-good” tendencies (we all come from somewhere), is self-defeating and ONLY serves the class enemy.

First of all, before the ultra-left infantile, amygdaloidal reactions surface, allow me to disclose: I remain committed to Marx, Engels, Luxemburg and Trotsky. After all, why reinvent the wheel…

Over the past 50+ years I’ve gathered a few marbles in this street game…I defer to none.

A brief bio would flash from scenes of the Blackboard Jungle in the South Bronx, to the 101st Airborne, to civil rights and a rock-quarry chain-gang, to the antiwar movement, to human rights in Central and South America, East Africa and the Middle East, and some 25 years in a variety of jails and prisons.

I’ve paid a few dues and EARNED my viewpoint…

When the Arab Spring inspired the American Occupy movement last year, I was impressed. I perceive it as a significant development in mass class consciousness. That’s key…

For the first time in generations, there is a clear call that aims at the very heart of capital imperialism: 99% versus 1%.

Make no mistake: the ruling elite are perfectly aware of where this is all heading…this is their mid-game

That issue, that call, synthesizes and is inclusive of all other issues. The present “lack” of definitive demands that the corporate media could grasp and manipulate is no problem. Those demands WILL inevitably arise…

The development of democratic forums was also brilliant. Initially, caught by surprise, corporatist cadre (class-conscious right-wing strategists) have lost little time organizing their response.

They understand perfectly that the greatest threat to corporatist rule over the planet (their current agenda) is democratic mobilization by the masses.

Corporatists have rule over the fingers on the triggers. They’ve well learned the lesson: “Use ‘em or lose ‘em!”

Tasking their police and political establishment to confront, bash, and expel the vanguard of the Occupiers by violent confrontation was only their opening gambit.

Having their media depict the movement itself as violent (of course, the 1% supplies 99% of the violence) capitalizes on the vicarious nature of American society and the “just world fallacy” (blaming the victim) which is another part of our infantile, individualistic national character.

The movement itself by its democratic nature supplies the enemy with the opportunities they need. There’s no help for that other than our response…

Corp-police strategists could care less who actually supplies the disruptive elements.

While police violence serves as an immediate tool to discourage mass participation, the intelligence and security apparatus are working overtime to infiltrate and provoke decisions, divisions and responses that serve longer-term corporatist interests.

Bill, Bernadine and Diane (were she still with us) could and should be preaching on this very subject and its lessons for today…

This is not to say that revolutionary violence is not ever a part of the struggle. In fact, quite the opposite.

As the movement succeeds in developing a mass base–historically a 1/3rd or more–revolutionary defense (including counter-terrorism, that is, summary execution of anti-democratic terrorists caught in such criminal circumstances) will become appropriate and necessary.

Have no fear: They’ll be blood and gore aplenty…there always is. That’s their choice. Lives will be saved when corporatist-terrorists are clear that being caught in such crimes will not allow them to survive the “emergency” period. But that’s a future reality…

Non-violent organizing is a TACTIC at a stage of the struggle that builds toward MASS development. I can only offer the same advice that we applied in the Old South:

If you’re not prepared for that sacrifice at this stage, then go the fuck back home…play your daddy-games there…
