Detroit as Bellwether…

A bellwether (often misspelled bellweather) is used in language and literature to indicate a future trend. It’s derived from old English for a castrated ram (a wether) that leads a flock of sheep with a bell hung from its neck.

As a 20+ yr veteran of America’s gulag, perhaps I’m somewhat more sensitive to such indications…

For the purpose of this article, it also indicates the stalking horses of wealthy patrons, such as, Republican governors Rick Scott of Florida, Scott Walker of Wisconsin, John Kasich of Ohio, Chris Christie of New Jersey and Rick Snyder of Michigan (frustrated losers in every other area of their thwarted lives, despite corporate-media propaganda).

In all social systems, there have always been at least two basic types of people: those who grow to social maturity, and the far fewer—but a chief source of mayhem—who remain into adulthood with an infantile, individualized fixation.

Such an observation is made here almost universally congruent with their abusively disciplined and authoritative childhoods. To this sociopathic cohort, the rest of us simply serve as so much jetsam in their illusory firmament.

In large part, these squillae-like pimples on the ass of polite society believe in their own superiority, and even convince others—especially those of equal infantile fixation—that their mental/emotional disorder arises to the status of an ideology.

In fact, they are predatory parasites that will sooner or later create the conditions of their own demise.

In a far earlier speech to Congress, their capital illusion was addressed perfectly:

“[T]here is one point, with its connections, not so hackneyed as most others, to which I ask a brief attention. It is the effect to place capital on an equal footing with, if not above, labor, in the structure of government. It is assumed that labor is available only in connection with capital; that nobody labors unless somebody else, owning capital, somehow by the use of it, induces him to labor.

“This assumed, it is next considered whether it is best that capital shall hire laborers, and thus induce them to work by their own consent, or buy them, and drive them to it without their consent. Having proceeded thus far, it is naturally concluded that all laborers are either hired laborers or what we call slaves….

“Now, there is no such relation between capital and labor as assumed….

“Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration.”

Abraham Lincoln, 1861 (emphasis added).

The good news is that history demonstrates that Freedom ultimately is inalienable. Contrary belief lies upon the fallacious foundation of wealth usurped from labor.

Ultra-conservative attempts to abolish democracy by legislatively enacting powers such as “emergency management decrees” exposes their true fascist will.

Lumpenized racist, nativists, and religious-crackpot fundamentalists, become their natural allies. Given the general mass psychology of a “just-world” phenomenon, they tend to believe the grossest of lies and scapegoating perpetuated by those with a deeper and disguised, self-centered purpose.

Rick Snyder of Michigan is today poised to appoint such a Hitlerian “extraordinary measure” to obviate Detroit’s democracy and ravage what remains of the city’s economy.

Only thru the Shock Doctrine of Disaster Capitalism can the 1% achieve total socio-political power: their strategy to “compassionate fascism.”

Once achieved, as with the first thing the Nazis did after they took political power in the Weimar Republic in 1933 (also employing terror, impoverishment and a democratic license to do so), will be to suspend the Constitution, assume total power in their own name, and enact ever-escalating “extraordinary measures.”

What exists today in America as manifested in the Occupy Movement and other forms of socio-political consciousness and resistance, is all that currently stands in their path.

Watch Detroit in the next few months…this is the 1% future for America…

    Hey, Dr. Publico~
Your analysis is chillingly accurate, in my opinion.
