We The People vs. Corporatism…

Class War! There’s no delicate way to put it. Nor is there any single way to fight it.  This is far more than a routine political election.  All who sit or play on the sidelines are on the wrong side of history.  It’s not Obama’s ass on the line…it’s ours!

(Disclosure: I’m convinced that (1) the Republican Party has become a total creature of the corporate elite.  (2) A growing mass of the US population has been abandoned by Democratic Party leadership, which primarily serves corporate interests.

(The Dems (3) are at least an open party with many disparate elements, and (4) I believe that an opportunity exists for progressive and socialist cadre to become a conscious faction of the only mass party in the US that is available to the average American in order to reach and represent the abandoned mass not otherwise available to those outside the two-party system.) more…

Social Security Reality…

Aesop addressed today’s Social Darwinism (“survival of the most predatory”) by private profiteers 2,600 years ago in the Sixth Century BCE in his fable of The Goose That Laid the Golden Egg.

goldeneggLet’s imagine that the modern version of that Goose is one that benefits us all. However, someone gets the idea that he can personally benefit better if he guts the Goose and takes what lies inside to himself. Screw everyone else.

If they’re so stupid as to let me do it, then they deserve their fate.” This is the de jure systemic reality of where we are today.

Social Justice Survey…

One of the reasons that we don’t usually recall memories of our pre-natal and infancy is because the myelin sheaths of our brain neurons are not yet fully developed.

Without that fatty tissue (like insulation on a conduction wire), all sensations and perceptions are somewhat scrambled and memory impressions unable to properly form.

For this and other reasons, contrary to fundamentalist navel-gazers, we don’t become functional persons until some period after birth. more…

Psychopaths: Inside & Outside the Law…

On Thursday Police Sergeant Drew Peterson (58) was convicted in the brutal murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio.  Peterson joins a growing chorus of such psychopaths tolerated in the nation’s police departments.

Rob Lowe TV depiction…

If he harbored a psychopathic personality at a young age it was subordinated when he joined the U.S. Army after high school and became a military cop.

In 1977 he joined the Bolingbrook Police Department, Illinois, and was able to indulge his deranged appetites for another 30 years. He collects $6,067.71 a month in retirement pay from the public treasury. more…

The US Constitution’s Separation of Church & State…

“Where are the Roger Williams of today? How amazing that such a phenomenal figure is not even more greatly immortalized in our schools for his heroism.”   Ed Asner, star of Lou Grant.

Following my recent postings on gov’t v. business, this article features the founder of my birthplace, the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, by Roger Williams (1603-83). (That’s the actual name of the state.)

Roger Williams (1603-83)…

None of the rights we have are a gift from heaven nor are they the automatic consequence of social progression.

Every right has been earned thru protest, struggle and sacrifice, and maintained only thru continuing vigilance.

Back to Basics: Sociopathology 101…

…or, Business & Gov’t: Profit vs. Service.

The current mantra of obsessive profiteers is: The business of gov’t is business. This is a pernicious concept. It’s borne from private greed and conservative think-speak.

Conservative view…

It’s estimated that 1% of any given population are clinical sociopaths (or psychopath…same thing, different focus). That makes some 3,150,000 in the US out of a total population of 315 million. more…
