Obama’s Moral Vision?

All contributions by corporations to any political committee or for any political purpose should be forbidden by law.”

This comment was made over a hundred years ago by T. Roosevelt to Congress.  Try to find a politician today to make this statement.  If such were to come to pass, the Republican Party for one would cease to exist—at least in its incorporation today. more…

Corporate Plan for America, Inc….

We can only wonder how long it will take for enough Americans to wake up to the fact that they’re being played…  Short of a revolutionary civil war, maybe it’s already too late.

1984 by George Orwell (1949), presciently predicted Big Brother and a time of corporatist total ownership and control of the political process and propaganda media.

Their solution?  More wealth and political power to the top 1%.  Eating out of the dog-dish set for their conservative lackeys next to Massa’s table as their tails wag maniacally in ignorant bliss. more…

Manning Moved to Leavenworth…

On Wednesday, April 20th, Pfc. Bradley Manning—being held as the WikiLeaks whistle-blower for the past 11 months at the Marine brig in Quantico, VA—was moved to the Joint Regional Correctional Facility (JRCF) in Kansas.

Bradley Manning…

The JRCF is a new facility, built on the USP Leavenworth compound in October of 2010 as part of the Military Corrections Complex.  It houses pre-trial inmates and military personnel serving less than five years.

Manning was initially arrested at Forward Operating Base Hammer near Baghdad, Iraq, in May of 2010.  He was held under a punitive regimen in maximum-security lock-up, despite not having been convicted of anything.

Pfc. Manning was an intelligence analyst and worked on the US Gov’ts Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SPIRNet).  Born in December of 1987, he’s now 23-yrs-old, and is a dual American/British citizen.  more…

Democracy vs. Plutocratic Predators…

The American Revolution was a war fought against an aristocracy that was dominated by corporate predators; for one, the East India Company.

Thomas Jefferson...

King George III had no more control over them than does Barack Obama over the current crop of corporatists.  They still buy all the influence they need. more…

Here & Now—1984…

When I was growing up there was a book entitled 1984, set in a distant future.  It never occurred to me that I would actually live to see that world; that such a place could even exist.

What is most unreal about 1984 is that masses of people could accept and believe the double-speak of such a leadership, manifested as Big Brother in the book.

To paraphrase the author, George Orwell (1949), “War is peace, slavery is freedom, and ignorance is strength.”   Remarkably, George projected an analog between state-capitalist Stalinism and contemporary conservative corporatism. more…

Killer Kops & Their Enablers…

For 17 yrs prior to my conviction and subsequent 25-yr sentence to federal prison for a bogus cocaine conspiracy, I was a Criminal Defense Investigator (CDI) in Detroit, MI.  Most of my casework was in the area of rapes, drugs, and homicides.

Melvin Williams & Mathew Dean Moore...

A current case in the news involving the conviction of two New Orleans police officers in the vicious beating death of Raymond Robair, 48, a month prior to Katrina, reminds me of some of my earlier investigations. more…

CIA Terrorist Acquitted…

The wonder is that Luis Posada was ever charged with anything…  Posada was acquitted at trial in Texas last week.

Cubana Airlines DC-8...

The US Dept of “Justice” effectively conspired with Posada’s defense by only charging him with lying to US Immigration authorities.  It would have been extremely embarrassing should Posada have decided to “talk”; he’s the main slug in USG terrorism against Cuba. more…

Plea Bargains & Settlements…

When rich folks steal stuff and make a deal, it’s called a settlement.  When we do it, it’s called a plea bargain.

Allow me to offer an example…  Our ol’ cell-buddy, Bernie Madoff, #61727-054, doing 150 years (out-date: 2139) at FCC Butner, NC, reveals some more of his story.

Understandably enough, I guess, Bernie’s pretty pissed.  His son Mark, 46, committed suicide and his family’s blaming him.  I think he’d like a little more respect and appreciation from the sewer rats he once served. more…

Clarence Thomas—The Last Overseer…

I chose to serve a 25-yr sentence in federal prison rather than betray others.  At some point in my youth and experiences I acquired a social consciousness, and a special animus for those who would sell their souls at any price

Having spent most of my lifetime in human rights and political struggle, and having served Honorably from 1959-to-1965 in the American Civil War in the Jim Crow South–precisely a century after the first one–it truly pains me to witness some turn traitor on their own people, their race, their class, their very family history.

While I’m a non-theist and don’t believe in fairies, ghosts, goblins or gods, I do believe in a universal connection tying all things to all times.  I believe we all come from the same source—star stuff, if you will—to which we all return.  It’s not a personal thing.

I don’t submit any answer to the Great Mysteryof where all this originally came from…nor do I believe can anyone else.  Life is one aspect of universal existence.  Individual consciousness is one of the most fleeting and perhaps the greatest of illusions.  But nevertheless, this is where we live. more…

Crime, Criminals & Conspiracies…

(NOTE: If your ears are too sensitive for prison-speak, then please feel free to pass up this article…)

As a 21+yr veteran of the federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), I’ve met and known my fair share of criminals.  Most of them don’t hold a candle, however, to the crew operating these days in the Republican Party.

Cripes!  I mean, how would you like over half of Congress covering your ass?  Not only free get-out-of-jail cards, but you’ll never even be investigated!?!  A majority of the US Supreme Court?  Yup.  Governors?  They got ‘em.  State judges and legislators?  Plenty, no problem.

Hold up a bank for a few thousand bucks and go to prison.  Hold up the same bank for a billion-or-so, and even the neo-liberals will bend over so far they’ll give you a few billion more! more…
