     The National Telecommunications and Information Agency (NTIA) conducted a reportedly successful test at FCI Cumberland, MD (the current home of Bernard Kerik, former Police Commissioner of NYC–sorry, I can hardly contain my schadenfreude…), to jam prisoner’s contraband cell phones.

Over the past few years, cell phones have become quite ubiquitous in the prisons.  They work practically everywhere, offer relative privacy, and they’re easy to smuggle and conceal.  Of course, behind the razor-wire they’re already banned, and their use or possession is a Class One violationmore…
