Aesop addressed today’s Social Darwinism (“survival of the most predatory”) by private profiteers 2,600 years ago in the Sixth Century BCE in his fable of The Goose That Laid the Golden Egg.
Let’s imagine that the modern version of that Goose is one that benefits us all. However, someone gets the idea that he can personally benefit better if he guts the Goose and takes what lies inside to himself. Screw everyone else.
“If they’re so stupid as to let me do it, then they deserve their fate.” This is the de jure systemic reality of where we are today.
